How To Buy A Home Podcast
How To Use This Podcast To Help You Become A First-Time Home Buyer
Welcome to the How To Buy A Home podcast. I am David Sidoni, your host. I am recording this just a couple of weeks short of the five-year anniversary of the very first How To Buy A Home podcast. You do not get to hear the original first episode with crappy audio. I started the show because I have been helping first-time home buyers since 2006. As I got deeper and deeper into the world of real estate, I started to get pretty good and pissed off at how first-time home buyers were being mistreated, ignored, and screwed over.
In March of 2019, I quit my broker and I started this podcast, my passion project, educating and empowering renters everywhere with the tips, the tricks, the hacks, the insider secrets from an industry pro who wants to help level the playing field for first time home buyers. I start every show with a little teaser and then I play the introduction music. To make you feel like one of the family, play that music.
What is happening, my How To Buy a Homies? After a few years, the listeners needed a nickname. Since Swifties was taken, Homies it is. Now, you are a homie. I am excited to have you here. Welcome in. I am super stoked you are here. This is episode one, which is just going to be an introduction to say hello, explaining how to best use this podcast to get your free education on your burning question. How the hell do you buy a home?
If you had a chance to scroll through the podcast already you see the giant library of episodes. We have a catalog on every topic imaginable for you wannabe first-time home buyers. The podcast has already helped thousands of people dump their landlords and become homeowners through education here. I cannot believe it took me so long to see how many people out there were dying to not only get the insider secret so they could beat what is essentially a rigged game for first-time home buyers but many listeners have benefited from getting clear simple tips on how you even start this complex and confusing process.
That is why I am here right now re-recording episode one because you are probably looking at the catalog and being massively overwhelmed. Do not worry about it. There’s a basic step-by-step starting point if you are brand new. if you are listening for the very first time, your best starting point is to jump to Episode 164.
I know it is weird, but it was four years in when I figured out how to say exactly where to start. You start with Episode 164 and then you jump into Season Two. I restarted a whole new season and you start at Episode 201 and go to 210. Episode 164 is an introduction to the whole thing. You want to jump right to that next and then you get the 10 episodes that will give you the 10 basic steps on buying your first home.
Maybe you are out there going, “Dude, why didn’t you just start there when you started the podcast?” I told you, I was pissed off and I quit my broker. I did not have much of a plan except to speak the truth. I hope that people will get some good out of it. Now that I have been ranting and raving for all these years and helping all kinds of people, the big thing we know about real estate Is that real estate changes all the time. The back catalog does have lots of great information. To get the most out of this podcast, go directly to Episode 164 and then Season Two, for the 10 steps, basic, simple anything you need to know on how to buy your first home. That starts in Episode 201.
I know a lot of you out there might be listening to me on two times speed and you are getting ready to binge every episode because you got to know everything before you get started. Number one, do not binge these in order. The housing market changes all the time and the episodes from 2019, ‘20, ‘21, ‘22, and even ‘23, some of those might be outdated. You need to stay up on the current episodes, as well as all the things that are going to affect you today that are going to come out in those episodes.
Again, no binging in order. Right now go to 164 and then 201 through 210 for your 10 steps. After that, if you feel like you want to jump around the catalog for some specific questions that you may have on other topics, that is fine. You can do that. Subscribe right now and you will also get all the new episodes and that will keep you up to date on the current market tips.
After you do 164 and 201 through 210, the 10 steps. I recommend that you do the next newest episode and then an older one if one of those titles stands out to you. If you are a binger, after you finish 164 and 201-210, then do the newest one, an old one, a new one, and an old one. This will benefit you the most and help you get the most out of this podcast.
If you are tired of renting and you want to build your financial future, you can get your education here. Start to build your very own personal roadmap and get off your ass and start doing some planning. Even some simple baby steps and you’ll avoid all the pitfalls that create the horror stories that you may have heard from other people.
Even with some simple baby steps, you can avoid the pitfalls that create horror stories about acquiring their very first home.
You are going to find this process easier and more accessible than trying to do all this research on your own being on a Google machine. If you want to hear from real people, there are tons of interview episodes in the back catalog as well. Real people that were like you and they used the information they got on the podcast and they suddenly discovered, “Damn. This is doable.” The education you get here is put here to empower you. I am super excited about your journey because I have seen the ending thousands of times. You can do this.
