Just out of the Navy, Jim worked for over 10 years in the construction industry including 4 years of doing complete renovations for a Real Estate Co. in Evansville Indiana that specialized in flipping properties.

He honed and improved his skills by purchasing, renovating and selling several houses on his own.

Jim then worked for a new home builder in Owensboro Kentucky for 2 years gaining valuable knowledge to be used later in his career.

After suffering a severe injury that required two surgeries and unable to work for three years, Jim went back to school and got his degree in electronics engineering.

• Just out of school, he worked for a precision metal machine-tool company.
   
• The company eventually got sold to a major competitor and his position changed.
   
• He was going to have to go out on the road and be away from his family for extended periods.
  
  "My son was just 11 years old and I didn't want to be away from home. I remembered the Realtor's that I had worked for in Evansville and how I had thought at that time that selling real estate was something that I would like to try to do some day. When I found myself facing a drastic change in my job description I felt that the time was right. I had moved to Fishers in 1988 so I knew the area well. Fishers only had 7000 or so residents at that time but the growth potential was obvious. I am happy with my decision." 

• Jim became a Central Indiana real estate agent in 1993, first with Coldwell Banker, then for seven years with Remax.
   
• He left Remax and opened his own real estate agency in 1999 that specialized in helping buyers find their "Dream Home."
